Racing Flanders: A Dream Come True for David González
The Tour of Flanders needs to introduction. It’s the epitome of cycling in Belgium, one of the biggest classics on the calendar. We are very proud to have been invited for the third year in a row.
4 April 2025.

For Nicoló Parisini and Kamil Małecki it will be their third time representing the Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team. Jannik Steimle and Fabio Christen raced the Tour of Flanders for the team last year as well. Jannik Steimle and Giacomo Nizzolo also have previous experience but for Rory Townsend and David González it will be the first time in ‘Vlaanderens Mooiste’.
For David González this race is something he has been dreaming of his entire career. He joined the team this year and this is his first northern Spring Classics campaign. He has loved it so far despite it being very hard. There was something new to learn in every race and he took the opportunity with both hands.
“I have already done Nokere Koerse, Bredene Koksijde, E3 Harelbeke, Gent-Wevelgem and Dwars door Vlaanderen in Belgium. All these races were new to me. The level is incredibly high in all these races so I am already a bit tired but with Tour of Flanders this Sunday I get some extra energy. It’s a very special race for me because I watched it on tv since I was a young boy. I always dreamt of racing the Tour of Flanders and now it will really happen!” David smiles.
“In Belgium cycling is like religion. Racing here is something really special and you feel it at the start and on the course everywhere. The most iconic climb for me is Oude Kwaremont without a doubt. My wife Elena and son Luca who is only one year and four months old are coming over. They will come and see me at the start in Bruges but they will also go to Oude Kwaremont with my father and three other friends. My sister and her partner will be there too so a lot of people!

Luca has loved bikes since he first saw them so he will love all the colours and noises. For me it’s so special knowing they will be there for me. No one in my family comes from a cycling background so being on Oude Kwaremont during the Tour of Flanders is something they won’t ever forget. I am sure I won’t ever forget either.”
The Tour of Flanders starts in the historic town of Bruges and then makes its way to iconic hills like Oude Kwaremont, Berendries, Molenberg, Koppenberg and Paterberg and cobbles like the Paddestraat and the Mariaborrestraat. After 268,9 kilometers of racing the finish is in Oudenaarde.
