Matteo Moschetti Wins GP Criquielion 2025 in a Sprint Finish
Racing continued in Belgium with the GP Criquielion, a 200-kilometer race through the province of Hainaut on Saturday. Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team started with six riders only but Giacomo Nizzolo, David González, Marcel CamprubĂ, Kamil MaĹ‚ecki, NicolĂł Parisini and Matteo Moschetti proved to be a force to reckon with. Matteo Moschetti won the sprint, but his final lead-out Giacomo Nizzolo finished on the podium as well.
8 March 2025.

It was the 30th edition of this race named after former world champion and Tour of Flanders winner Claude Criquielion who was born in start place Lessines. The peloton started on this Spring Day with hardly any wind with a bunch sprint on their minds. Multiple teams including Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team had brought their fast men so a breakaway of four riders was kept under tight control.
When they were caught at 40 kilometers from the finish, attacks started flying on the steep CĂ´te des Plachettes but the Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team kept their radar focus to go for that bunch sprint with Moschetti who already showed in AlUla Tour to be one of the best sprinters in the peloton.
Matteo Moschetti’s reaction:
“It was tricky in the final with two climbs and the small roads, but we were always in the right position as a team. David, Marcel, and NicolĂł closed the gap to the last attackers in the final. The last 500 meters were slightly uphill at 4-5% with a headwind, so it wasn’t a fast sprint, but in the end, everything worked perfectly. This is a big confidence boost for me and for the team. Winning is always nice, and having a teammate on the podium makes it even better!”

Giacomo Nizzolo joined his teammate on the podium. It didn’t look like he would but after being caught behind a crash and a split in the bunch, the former Italian and European champion made his way back to the front, lined up the peloton to get Matteo in a good position and as a reward got a third place. That’s some teamwork!
Matteo, Giacomo, Kamil, Nicoló, Marcel and David race again tomorrow in GP Jempy Monseré, where despite some cobbles and Flemish bergs it also usually ends in a bunch sprint.
