“It’s a really special race for me”

“It will be my 3rd Tour de Pologne. It’s a really special race for me and I have great memories from my previous two participations. In my debut I was 6h in the GC so it was unforgettable. The second time I was fighting for the KOM jersey which I only lost in the last day so it was also an amazing moment. It’s my home race so I enjoy a lot of support from my family and friends. I spent two weeks in Livigno at the team’s altitude training camp. I did my best preparation to start Tour de Pologne in good shape so I hope I have the opportunity to show my shape!” said Małecki, who will be joined in Poland by countryman Szymon Sajnok. The Polish rider will partner up with Italian Matteo Moschetti and both will target the sprint stages.

“We’ll have a really strong team with Matteo (Moschetti) and Szymon (Sajnok) for the sprints and Mark Donovan, who had a great Sibiu Tour, will be, I’m sure fighting for the GC. My goal is to help my teammates but also try and take the opportunities to be in the breakaways if the Sport Directors decide to give me that chance. I hope to be able to fight for a stage win and who, knows, maybe compete for the KOM jersey,” concluded Małecki.

Former Swedish Time-trial champion Tobias Ludvigsson will provide valuable all-round support and target the individual time trial on the penultimate stage.

Completing Q36.5 Pro Cycling team’s roster for the seven-day race is Kiwi Jack Bauer who brings a wealth of experience and versatility to support the team’s goals across all terrains.
